Steadman’s Fred LeRoy Basketball Camps was the 2013 recipient of NCIA’s Chief Standing Bear’s Organizational Award for demonstrating leadership, importance of education, and dedication to Native youth of Nebraska.  Steadman has stated that the basketball camps go far beyond teaching basketball skills and stress a commitment to self improvement and academic achievement.

Future plans for the camps include a boy’s and girl’s 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the spring of 2014 and the addition of clinics at Walthill and Macy, Nebraska on the Omaha Reservation.
