Leah Belgarde, an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, graduated from the Great Plains Leadership Institute on October 9th, 2019. Leah is a Health Program Manager/ Native American Health Liaison for the Nebraska DHHS Office of Health Disparities and Health Equity.

 

The Great Plains Leadership Institute is a year-long competency-based training program designed for established and emerging leaders in organizations in the Great Plains region whose primary mission is to improve the health and well-being of populations and communities. Scholars come from governmental public health, insurance companies, community health centers, civic and elected positions, community-based organizations, the business community and more. A few of the competencies from the institute include owning your leadership identity, leading positive change, and influencing organizational culture.
