Friday, December 9th, 2011, NCIA Staff met with representatives from St. Augustine Indian Mission and Sheridan Elementary School to discuss the creation of sister outdoor classrooms.  With the assistance of Nature Explore, Sheridan has established a successful outdoor classroom.  As of Friday, St. Augustine will begin planning the design for their garden.  Not only do these outdoor classrooms connect children with nature through enriching outdoor activities, but these sister classrooms have the potential to create positive partnerships between the two schools and enable cultural exchange and enhance the learning experiences for both groups of students.  Pictured below from left to right: Senior Associate Pastor and Director of St. Augustine Indian Mission Father Dave Korth, NCIA Executive Director Judi gaiashkibos, and NCIA Administrative Secretary Racheal Strong.
