On March 17, the Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs assisted in hosting a conference call with Nebraska tribal leadership, Governor Pete Ricketts and other state leadership dedicated to COVID-19 issues and response. Gov. Ricketts has also requested that our office help facilitate a follow up meeting with tribal leaders in approximately two weeks. As the liaison between state government and Nebraska tribes, NCIA is committed to facilitating these meetings as well as any other meetings between tribal leaders and governmental entities and organizations as needed. We will also post additional information about this public health crisis that could be useful to Nebraska tribes as we determine is necessary. We are also in the process of obtaining a list of tribal needs and points of contact to post for any individuals or organizations that would be interested in giving assistance.
