State Senators Patty Pansing-Brooks and Tom Brewer led floor debate on March 9 on LB407 which creates the Whiteclay Public Health Emergency Task Force. The Whiteclay Public Health Emergency Task Force shall examine public health implications of alcohol sales in Whiteclay, Nebraska, on the Whiteclay community and surrounding areas, including the neighboring Pine Ridge Reservation. The Task Force shall make recommendations to the Legislature on how the state should act to solve issues related to the Whiteclay Public Health Emergency and the economic and social issues relating to the emergency. The bill advanced forward to Enrollment and Review with the addition of Amendments 528 and 1040.
