NCIA commissioner Lucas LaRose testifies in favor of LB 291 at committee hearing.
District 40 Senator Tyson Larson recently requested designation of LB 291 as one of his priority bills. The bill which was introduced to the Revenue Committee, relates to Native Americans and the designation of special zones on Indian Reservations. LB 291, which creates and proposes to adopt the Special Economic Impact Zone Act, provides tax incentive options to encourage the formation and expansion of businesses on reservations in our state. Pursuant to similar legislation introduced during the previous session and recommendations of the LR 547 Tribal Economic Development Committee, LB 291 was introduced in an attempt to promote economic growth and stability, while maintaining sovereignty, within designated zones as addressed in the bill
